USS KING (DLG-10) launched on December 6, 1958, Commissioned on November 17, 1960. Named in honor of Fleet Admiral Ernest J. King.

On June 30, 1975 she was reclassified as a guided missile destroyer and re-designated USS KING (DDG-41).

March 28, 1991, KING was De-Commissioned, sold for scrap and cut up in Wilmington Beach, North Carolina.
