Comments: I served on a sister ship, USS LUCE (DDG-38) and steamed several times with the KING in the Caribbean Sea. I have some pics of her steaming in formation with us and the COONTZ during ops. I loved the Coontz Class ships and will always remember those months and years underway. I've seen the sites for the PREBLE & KING, and wish there was also one for the LUCE. Perhaps one day there will be. GO NAVY!

Comments: I'm glad to see the site has finally been created. I was only on the King for a little over 1 year, but, I saw more action because of the fire than the 3 years onboard the DeHaven. I spent my entire enlistment serving in the Viet Nam area. After 3 years on the DeHaven, I was transferred to the King a month before we left San Diego, back to Nam. Clif.

Two NATO's a few blue noses, and to many Caribbean runs to count. Love the site, I sent in some pictures of the old girl during her last few years, I hope a couple of them make it to the gallery. I'd love to here from any old shipmates.
